Dominican Freshman Adrian Rodriguez was selected by the Texas Rangers in the MLB Draft

Towson University incoming freshman Adrian Rodriguez was selected in the 39th round by the Texas Rangers in the Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft on Wednesday.

Rodriguez is a right-hander pitcher out of the Florida Virtual School, taken 1165th overall.  The MLB Draft Tracker has him listed at 6-foot-5, 190 lbs.

The Rangers have formerly taken two Towson players in the MLB Draft, including pitcher Chris Russ in the 3rd round in 2000 and John Andrade in the 24thround in 1983.

Rodriguez can either sign with the Rangers or come to Towson and be re-eligible for the draft in three years.
